3 years of war in Ukraine: We are helping people get back on their feet

Soon, it will be three years since the Russian invasion of Ukraine and the escalation of the war that has affected millions of lives. Since the early days of the conflict, Caritas Czech Republic has been on the ground, helping those who need it most. In addition to providing humanitarian aid, we are increasingly focusing on restoring livelihoods and supporting long-term solutions. Key initiatives of Caritas Czech Republic in Ukraine in 2024

In the third year of Ukraine's full-scale invasion, the need for humanitarian aid remains critical. Caritas Czech Republic continues to provide support where it is needed most, expanding our presence in the East and South to support people affected by evacuations and the ongoing crisis in frontline areas. We provide displaced families with safe housing, help them regain stability through livelihood support, and focus on the quality of rehabilitation medicine and comfort and accessibility for people with disabilities.

Caritas Czech Republic set up inclusive space for sports and playgrounds for children in Lviv region and Transcarpathia in Ukraine

This year Caritas Czech Republic in Ukraine focused on improving the living conditions and leisure activities of families with children evacuated from the war zone to Western Ukraine. Many of these families are raising children with various forms of disabilities. To help them develop and integrate safely, we provided two barrier-free playgrounds to the cities of Uzhhorod in Transcarpathia and Truskavets in the Lviv region.
