Summer of Ukrainian children between laughter and sirens

Childhood in Ukraine has now unfolded under the shadow of war for three consecutive years. Despite the ongoing conflict, children strive to experience summer like their peers elsewhere in the world – playing, travelling, creating, and dreaming. Yet their stories are shaped by anxiety, separation, and the daily threat of air raids. Many of them have benefited from the services of Caritas Czech Republic in Ukraine or are actively cooperating with the organisation.

Caritas Czech Republic provided comfort for twelve vulnerable families in the western Ukraine

Since the beginning of the Russian invasion, Caritas Czech Republic has been providing decent living conditions for war-affected families in western Ukraine. Recently, we purchased essential household appliances for 12 flats in the village of Kernytsia, in the Lviv region. Here, the local community, together with charitable organisations, transformed the former village council building into social housing. Thanks to this, Olha and her young children now have a safe new home.
