Donors and Partners

Caritas Czech Republic has been cooperating with a number of significant donors for a long time. Their support allows us to provide humanitarian aid and engage in development cooperation in target countries. We thank our partners for their support.

Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs  

Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has been cooperating with Caritas Czech Republic on many humanitarian and development projects in the countries we are working in. It is one of our main donors for our projects in Ukraine. We are currently implementing several activities funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic that focus on

  • helping internally displaced people (IDPs) through 
  1. providing IDPs in the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine with long-term, quality accommodation;
  2. mini-grants program for training and professional development in the region of displacement;
  3. financial support through the Cash for Work programme.
  • providing urgent assistance to the affected population in the frontline regions by     
  1. restoring access to drinking water, providing hygiene kits and setting up mobile medical centres in Kherson and Mykolaiv regions;
  2. equipping 5 mental health centres for children and adults in 4 regions - Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Transcarpathian and Dnipro oblasts;
  3. setting up and equipping 3 safe educational spaces, as well as organising additional classes to cover the educational gaps near the frontline; psychological counselling for teachers and students.

IrishAid  

Irish Aid is the development aid programme of the Irish Government and it is managed by the Department of Foreign Affairs. Caritas Czech Republic in Ukraine together with Trócaire provided emergency support to IDPs in Drohobych, Ukraine.

Trócaire 


Trócaire is an agency of the Irish Catholic Church and is the Irish member of Caritas Internationalis. It focuses on humanitarian and development aid for vulnerable groups, especially women and girls. In Ukraine, Trócaire is implementing a project funded by IrishAid, aimed at providing emergency support to internally displaced Ukrainians in the Lviv region.

Since 2022 we have expanded our sphere of support, providing immediate humanitarian aid and securing better living conditions for both internally displaced people and those who have fled the country.  We are able to do so thanks to local organizations that fall under our partner organization Caritas Ukraine.

Caritas Spes

The Czech Development Agency - Czech Aid

In 2024 we extended our work to Dnipro in the East of the country, striving to make rehabilitation and reproductive healthcare more accessible to people in the frontline Dnipro region. Thanks to Czech Development Agency six local outpatient rehabilitation centres will be fully modernised. As a result

  • rehabilitation departments renovated and equipped ully modernised and equipped;
  • more than 120 medical professionals from the region will take advanced training courses;
  • more residents of the frontline region will be able to get quality rehabilitation for free.

Ukraine Humanitarian Fund (UHF)

With the support of UHF and in partnership with the New Dawn Charitable Foundation, Caritas Czech Republic provides vital winter assistance to the affected population of the frontline areas of Kherson region: 

  • insulation of houses through the installation of energy-efficient windows, doors, and thermal insulation of attics;
  • providing firewood for heating homes;
  • distribution of warm clothing sets.
